Wherever one is in the world, there is always a horizon.
This third collection of paintings, “Turmoil” (after “Horizons” and “Dreamscapes”, true expressions of calm and serenity) just took over, irresistibly. Today, our inner core balance, so hard to preserve, is upset and battered by unrelenting discouragement.
My palette has grown darker, just like the world around us.
Our environment is suffering… only a few hours from home war has taken hold
and everyone remembers all too well a world-wide pandemic…
In this collection of often dissimilar paintings, we can nonetheless identify a common theme: a degree of violence, discord, a harsh background and tornadolike
turmoil which lift us up, the better to cast us down.
But this reality might make us forget that turmoil engenders change… and renewal!
Birth brings with it cries and suffering… but the outcome is hope itself.
What I am offering is that dark moment, just before the promise of dawn, which does come, necessarily, because the world is alive, and life dispels entropy.
Tomorrow’s hope. Who knows what is behind the door?
